Music choices for Cinematic Wedding Videos

13th August, 2010

As the wedding video industry moves towards more cinematic styles of Videography, music choice is becoming a specific art form in itself. Matching the style of filming to the desired look and feel of the finished wedding video requires exactly the right type of music and sourcing that music is not as easy as you might think.

While the music used in wedding videos until now has mostly been a selection of the latest tracks from more mainstream artists or quite well known cinema pieces from movies, the music required to extract the most from cinematic styles of Videography for weddings now requires a more particular choice. Listening to the lyrics of a soundtrack, its general ambience and mood, its changes in tempo and feel are all required to select the right tracks for a wedding video. Mainstream music artists and cinema soundtracks are still highly beneficial within the wedding industry, but wedding videos are in dire need of cinema styled orchestral pieces that fit within the mood of weddings. We will keep researching movie scores and sourcing tracks from the less accessible musicians along with mainstream artists, but if there are any independent music producers out there with a spare few days on their hands, please, please can the wedding video industry have some warm, emotive and invoking tracks to suit cinematic wedding videos. Harbour City Films and our Brides and Grooms would certainly appreciate your efforts immensely.
