Your wedding day is all about love and romance. But, it is also about capturing a sense of individuality and fun that you no doubt share as a couple. There are so many perfect movie moments that are recognised by almost everyone. Using these in your engagement or wedding photos is a great, unique way of expressing your love as their story becomes yours. Here are some ideas for perfect movie moments to repeat:

Titanic

  • Stand in the front of a boat or yacht with your arms outstretched. The photographer can insert the sunset background afterwards if this was not available at the time of the shoot.
  • Spin around with your partner while laughing and get the photographer to capture the fun and laughter. This refers to the below-deck party that Rose and Jack enjoy after their rather stiff dinner with the elite.
  • Have the groom sketch a naked bride who is wearing only a beautiful locket.
  • Steam up a vintage car’s windows and make your hand-print in the moisture.

The Notebook

  • The groom should lift the bride up and kiss her in the rain as she holds onto his face tightly.
  • Sit lazily in a canoe, laughing and reading poetry together.
  • The photographer should stand on the second story or landing and have the bride standing below holding her suitcases, reminiscent of the moment that Allie realises that she only wants to be with Noah and returns to his house with her bags.

Ghost

  • The most memorable scene from this film is the pottery wheel scene, where the couple make wheel work look like something from an R-rated movie. This is a great scene to recreate.

50 First Dates

  • Picture the groom in an artist’s studio filled with different paintings of his face.
  • Sit in your favourite coffee shop making waffle houses together.

Aladdin

An Indian-inspired wedding or engagement shoot lends itself to so many possibilities:

  • The couple on a magic carpet ride.
  • The bride on a palatial terrace, leaning down to kiss the groom, who balances on his carpet.
